European Poultry Genetics Symposium 2023

European Poultry Genetics Symposium 2023

The German branch of the WPSA and the European Federation of the WPSA’s Working Group 3 ‘Breeding and Genetics’ are glad to announce the 12th European Symposium on Poultry Genetics. From November 8 to 10, 2023, the Symposium will be hosted at the Airport Hotel Leonardo in Hannover, Germany.

Sessions on genetic engineering applied to chickens, genetic resources, biological restrictions in breeding, and genetic techniques to increase welfare, as well as new phenotyping tools in poultry breeding and genomic breakthroughs in other bird species, will be included in the scientific programme.

Keynote addresses will be given by internationally known speakers, and short presentations of submitted abstracts and poster presentations will also be important.

Working Group 3 strives to assist and encourage the participation of early-career scientists in conferences. The best abstracts will be chosen to present in a PhD Award session.

Application for a PhD Award

Our objective is to help scientists in their early careers and to encourage them to attend conferences. The best three abstracts from young scientists who have not yet earned their PhD or who have completed their PhD within the last three years will be chosen by the scientific committee and presented by the submitters during the PhD Award session. The symposium will cover registration fees and two nights’ lodging for the selected presenters. Please submit an abstract if you satisfy the requirements and want to apply for a PhD Award. Please email a brief CV along with your abstract to espg@eventlab.org.
