Russia Temporarily Bans the Import of Chicken products – France, Germany

The Russian Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision, Rosselkhoznadzor, has temporarily bans the import of chicken products into the Russian Federation from the German district of Cuxhaven and the French departments of Orne, Tarn, and Garonne, according to the press release.

After cases of highly virulent avian influenza were reported in particular areas, the French Veterinary Service and the International Epizootic Bureau issued the prohibitions.

The French Veterinary Service already communicated information regarding the steps taken to stop the disease’s spread, according to the news statement. The service has not yet received information from the German competent body, according to the statement.

The quantity or value of imported poultry products from either country were not mentioned in the release.
